How to set up your RUA-350?

Q: How to connect your RUA-350 to make your normal phone into Skype-enabled phone?

A: First connect the telephone line into the LINE port, then connect your house telephone set into the TEL port using our provided telephone wire. Lastly, plug the RUA-350 into your PC/Laptop’s USB port. Turn on your PC/Laptop and run the Skype and SkypeGate software.

• Your house phone will ring when there is a normal PSTN call coming in.
• Your house phone will also ring when there is incoming Skype (Internet) call.
• You can make a normal PSTN call as normal with your house phone.
• You can also now use your house phone to make Skype (Internet) calls.

Q: How to set the Skype-to-Phone diverting feature?

A: First ensure that your Skype and SkypeGate software is running. Look for the green colour SkypeGate icon on the taskbar on the bottom right of your PC/Laptop. Right click on this icon and click Divert. The Divert box will display the Skype-to-phone settings.

• To turn on the Skype-to-phone Divert feature, click on the checkbox.
• Decide how many times the phone will ring before it will start to divert. (E.g. 3 rings then divert)
• Next set the phone number that it will actually divert to. NOTE: You only have to input the number    as you normally would for a local call. (E.g. 03 7955 1378 to divert to local Malaysian number.)
• So now, when a Skype call comes in after the set number of rings, it will Divert to the number set
   in the box using the phone it is attached to. This is done at a local rate.
• NOTE: If you want to manually input the number to divert to when you make the Skype call in,         leave the Divert To box empty. So now the person making the Skype call in will here a dial tone, in    this mode, just input the number you wish to forward your Skype call to. (E.g. 03 7955 1378    NOTE: You don’t have to input any + sign or country code, Just dial as you would from your house    phone.)

Q: How to set the Phone-to-Skype feature?

A: First ensure that your Skype and SkypeGate software is running. Look for the green colour SkypeGate icon on the taskbar on the bottom right of your PC/Laptop. Right click on this icon and click Divert. The Divert box will display the Phone-to-Skype settings.

• To turn on the Phone-to-Skype feature, click on the checkbox.
• Decide how many times the phone will ring before it will start to make the Skype call. (E.g. 3 rings    then forward your call into Skype contact)
• If you want to prevent unauthorized usage of this feature, input a Password.
• You can assign up to 10 Speed-Dial numbers for Skype Contacts. To set a Speed-Dial number for    Skype contact, Right-click on the Skype contact. Click Assign Speed-Dial number. Input the    Speed-Dial number you want to assign to this contact.
• When you use a handphone or local telephone to call into your house number, after a set number of    rings, it will prompt you for a password. Input the password followed by the # key. It will next    prompt you to input Speed-Dial number to call to. Key in the desired Speed-Dial number followed    by the # key.

Q: How to use the Voice Recording function of the phone?

A: The RUA-350 allows you to record voice messages for both a) Normal phone calls (PSTN) b) Skype calls.

• Under the Phone-to-Skype feature, you can turn on the Voice Mail feature when you click the    check-box for Phone-to-Skype.
• To playback the voice messages, click on the Voice Messages button in the Divert settings box    when you right-click on the SkypeGate icon.
