1. “Where can I get the RUP-200/RUP-300/RUP-600?”
A: The RUP-200/RUP-300/RUP-600 can be bought at Challenger, Inforcom, South Asia in Funan IT Mall. It can also be found at E-Lite, FuWell and Skylet in Sim Lim.It can also be bought from Dufry at the airport. Alternatively, it can be bought at our main showroom Systech at 25 Kallang Ave #02-03.

2. “Can I get a discount if I buy more than 1 unit?”
A: The current retail prices are already very good and competitive. However, if you are looking at an order of more than 30 units, you can kindly contact us for more details on a special price if any.

Usage Enquiries

1. “Must I leave my computer on to make/receive calls on SKYPE?”
A: To make or receive calls on Skype, your computer must be on to be able to run the SKYPE software. Next, the computer must have a working Internet connection to be able to connect to other users on SKYPE.

2. “Do the Ranger USB Phones support Macintosh Operating System?”
A: The Ranger USB VoIP phones only support Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating platfrom.

3. “Does the software SKYPE come with the phone?”
A: The software SKYPE is provided free as an installer CD with each phone purchased. Also the SKYPE software is a free software that can also be downloaded from the website; www.skype.com

4. “Can the VoIP phone be used with other Voice over Internet software? (E.g. Yahoo, MSN Chat, Google Chat)
A: The RUP-200/RUP-300/RUP-600 is tested to be compatible with the SKYPE software. However, we cannot guarantee that the phones will work with other VoIP software. Skype is a global specialist in VoIP technology and we at RANGER believe that this will provide our customers with the clearest and most reliable Voice over Internet.

5. “Must my relative/friend/colleague on the other side have one of this phone”
A: Yes, we recommend that you also get a few sets for the other side. This is because the RUP-200/RUP-300/RUP-600 is very clear when talking through it. It is better than the normal headsets and microphone. The headsets commonly have echo/feedback when talking through it. Our USB phones feature echo cancellation which helps to eliminate this echo/feedback.

6. “Is the SKYPE software easy-to-use for all family members?”
A: Yes, our USB phones are very user-friendly. All you have to do is install the SKYPE software from the Installer CD provided with each box. Plug the phone into the USB port of your computer. Then register yourself and you friends/relatives as a user and you can start talking straight away.

7. “Can the phone be used to make calls to either fixed line/mobile phones?”
A: Yes, the software SKYPE has a prepaid service called SKYPEOUT which allows you to call from PC to a normal landline/mobile phone. This is done by going online to www.skype.com to buy SKYPEOUT credits online. Once these pre-paid credits are bought, you can call to a normal landline/handphone at a very cheap rate that is cheaper than most IDD calls and is also comparable to pre-paid calling cards. There is no monthly subscription or signing-on fee for SKYPEOUT.

Technical Enquiries

1. “I can navigate through the Skype software using the directional buttons on the phone. However, I cannot hear any sound from the phone when I make or receive calls.”
A: Sound Card does not support Full Duplex.

3. “Does the phone ring when people call you through the SKYPE software?”
A: Yes the phone has 3 different ringing functions and each at 2 different volumes. Press the # button repeatedly to change the ringing settings.

4. “Does the SKYPE software support video conferencing?”
A: At present the SKYPE software doesn’t have a video conferencing function. However, SKYPE allows up to 5 users in a conference chat. The video will have to be from a separate software that is normally provided with most PC webcams.

5. “Is the voice clear when using our Ranger USB VoIP phones?”
A: The phones feature echo cancellation and full duplex communications which help you to talk and listen very clearly.

6. “Can this phone be used if I already have SKYPE software installed?”
A: Yes, this phone is specifically designed for the SKYPE software and will be compatible with SKYPE once the SKYPEMate software that comes with the installer CD is installed.

7. “How do I dial out from the phone to other SKYPE users who are online?”
A: You will need to have the SKYPE software open and then from there you can select other SKYPE users who are online and click/press dial to make a call.

8. “Is this phone able to work through firewalls?”
A: The SKYPE software can work through most firewalls. For a more detailed explanation please refer to www.skype.com

9. “Is the VoIP phone SIP compliant?”
A: Yes, the phones are SIP compliant. (Session Initiation Protocol)

10. “Do the phones come in other colours?”
A: The colours that are available for RUP-200 are Black/Gray. The RUP-300 and RUP-600 only come in one colour. (Gray)
